God at Work

St. Clair Baptists,

I am honored to serve the Lord with many faithful servants. Among these are men like Rev. Jacky Connell, pastor of Eden Westside Baptist Church. Recently, our Association made a presentation to Bro. Jacky at an event held in honor his thirtieth anniversary as pastor of Eden Westside. Health and sustained growth is often the byproduct of disciplined, long-tenured leadership. It takes a pastor three years to "say hello" to the church and get to know the culture. Perhaps by years 5-7, the pastor is in a position of influential leadership. May the Lord bless those who are called to stay in their churches for the benefit of the church and Kingdom!

I am assisting Dr. Josh Burnham of Bethel Church, Moody, with a Journey to the Holy Land. Join us on February 12 to 21, 2018, as we walk where Jesus walked. Our group will visit Caesarea Philippi, Nazareth, Mt. Beatitudes, Gethsemane, the Upper Room, David's Tomb, Mt. of Olives, the Dead Sea, Jordan River, the Temple Mount, and many other historical sites. Visit this website for more information:

I cannot wait to see many of you at our upcoming Minister's Lunch at Arbor Baptist Church on August 31 at 11:00 AM. The lunch will feature Dr. Brad Moseley. Brad has recently led First Baptist Church, Moody, to pay off their mortgage. The church has intensified efforts on ministry and missions. In the process of leading the church through this critical time, he wrote a book on biblical leadership. Please come out and support Brad Moseley--speaker and Keith Ray--host church pastor. The meal will not cost you anything. We simply need to know you're coming by sending us the names of those who will be attending from your church. Send us an email by following this link.

Mark your calendars for the SCBA Annual Meeting at First Baptist Moody, October 23. The Monday event will start at 4:00 PM. Dr. Josh Burnham and Dr. Donald Whitney will be preaching. Brian Turnbull of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Cropwell, will lead worship. This meeting will focus more on Jesus Christ and less on reports. We will honor Jesus Christ and exalt him above all!

I have a threefold mission strategy: I desire to encourage, equip, and engage St. Clair Baptists in the Great Commission. One way we accomplish this is through short-term missions. We desire to establish three partnerships: rural, urban, and international. These partnerships will give us the capacity to engage churches and church members in Acts 1:8 missions; engaging beyond the walls of the church may strengthen their discipleship capacity in your local church.

Call me if I can serve you! My availability to church leaders is 24/7. I love you and appreciate all you do for our Savior!

Sincerely in Jesus,

Chris Crain, SCBA
